Culture is not a collection of isolated identities. It is shaped through encounters, movement, memory, language, and exchange.
Culture Entanglement
Connecting CulturesThrough Knowledge
Building bridges between communities through research, dialogue, digital innovation, and collaborative cultural exploration.
Culture emerges through connection.
Culture Entanglement explores the relationships between people, places, histories, languages, technologies, and forms of knowledge.
Knowledge becomes more meaningful when the connections between people, places, histories, and ideas can be explored together.
Why “Entanglement”?
Cultures are not isolated. Ideas, practices and meanings travel between people and places, creating relationships that transform both what moves and where it arrives.
Our idea of cultural entanglement is metaphorically inspired by the language of quantum entanglement. It is not a scientific theory of culture, but a way to ask how relationships across distance can reshape it.
Research Labs
Our Labs explore cultural questions in depth, developing research, experiments and projects around emerging cultural phenomena.
Where questions become research.
We investigate
Culture & Identity
Exploring how identities evolve through migration, memory, and cultural interaction.
Language & Translation
Studying multilingual communication, translation, and cultural meaning.
Digital Humanities & AI
Using AI and digital technologies to preserve and interpret cultural knowledge.
We observe
Culture Observatory
Watching culture as it changes.
We track emerging ideas, cultural practices and social conversations to understand how culture moves, transforms and becomes part of everyday life.
How a Culture Lab works
Every Lab follows the same four-stage protocol, wherever in the world it convenes.
Read the Story
Participants encounter the narrative in its original context, guided by scholars from each tradition.
Compare the Narratives
The narratives are placed side by side, without ranking or reconciliation.
Ask Contemporary Questions
Facilitators pose questions drawn from present-day life: belonging, justice, migration, and forgiveness.
Measure Interpretation
Anonymous responses are recorded and visualized as Interpretation Metrics, never a verdict on the text.
From research to action
Programs and collaborative initiatives that turn cultural research, dialogue, and knowledge into practice.
Culture Labs
Research • Dialogue • Experimentation
Collaborative spaces where researchers, practitioners and communities co-create cultural knowledge.
Narrative Diffusion
Stories Across Cultures and Time
Studying how stories and narratives travel across cultures and time, transforming, adapting, and evolving in different cultural contexts.
Open Heritage
Shared Cultural Memory
Preserving and interpreting cultural heritage using open knowledge.
Community Dialogues
Conversations that Matter
Facilitating intercultural dialogue through collaborative events.
